Interested in Modeling?
The World Wide Web has become an excellent networking/communication tool for photographers, artists and models. For me it is an excellent why of promoting myself and making connections with others directly, without going through agencies or third parties. I have many on-going projects related to the fine art nude's series and fine art landscapes series. And finding new models to work with is a part of the on-going project. When discussing the fine art nude projects with potential models (via e-mails or phone), the two major questions asked are:

Chris's new bathing area
1. What type of a person are you looking for?

2. What experience must the model have?

d:KES PLEASE....... me of the basics I require:

To be considered:

- You must be willing to pose nude out in nature and in the studio.
- No complainers or lazy models (this is a job).
- No alcoholics or drug addicts.
- Personality is a must.
- You must be able and willing to hike to locations and assist when needed .
- If chosen you MUST be reliable. NO FLAKES PLEASE.......

Modeling Requirements:
My first and absolute requirement is that you must be at least 18 years old. If you are not at least 18 years old, I would not be interested in working with you, even if the your parents would agree to you modeling. I will work with someone 18 or 19, but I generally work with women in there 20's or 30's.

Attitude, attitude and painted  Attitude, attitude, attitude. Second, you do not have to be a professional model to work for me. In most cases, I would prefer someone with some modeling experience to a professional model. The majority of models I work with are not professional models, some have had modeling experience, but most are "nervous beginners". Only two of the models in this web site are professional models. The majority of the models photographed here are college students or regular everyday people with little or no modeling experience. In fact, most of the women I have photographed have had no previous modeling experience at all.

Third, one of the most important is the attitude and maturity of the model. I have worked with 18-year-old models that were excellent, very mature and with great work attitudes. I have also worked with models at various ages that were not mature or had work attitudes that were very poor. Modeling is work. Fine art modeling is work and can also be an enjoyable experience with excellent rewards.

3 models working hardFouth, I work with models with different shapes and sizes. The most important factor is the height / weight relationship. One of my favorite models is only 4-11 (on her toes) and less than 100 pounds. From my work (photographs), I avoid how tallworking with full figure models and prefer to work with models that are anywhere from; somewhat on the thin side (but not to thin) to somewhat curvaceous (but not overweight). Generally, I look for models with normal health appearances that have an interesting shape.

Fifth, subject of tattoos and body piercing. I am finding more models with tattoos and various body parts being pierced. In most projects, I like prefer to work with models that do not have any tattoos or body parts pierced (excluding ears) or models where the tattoos can be hidden. Depending on the project, tattoos and body piercing is not a problem. Should you have tattoos or various body parts with jewelry, then contact and we can discuss, if it's interesting I may be able to turn it into a project.

Sixth, being dependable and professional. There is nothing more that I hate than being stood up, waiting on a model or a model not returning calls. Be it for an early morning photo shoot or a model interview, not showing or not calling up counts as a very big negative and is tells me that the model has no respect for me. So being dependable and professional is second most important factors. If you are not dependable and professional, please do not apply.

Regarding drugs and alcohol usage. Let me put it blunt, if you are using illegal drugs, do not bother applying. As for alcohol, I have no problem with a drink at dinner or a drink or two before bed time. However if you like to party and need to get drunk, do so, but not when you are working for me. I demand that each model be clean and sober, at, during, before and after any shoot. I will not put up with or employ a drunken, stoned or hung-over model.

The Eat at Joe's series is the result of three young and fantastic ladies with a very special attitude for modeling. Joe Place a fine eating restaurant in Northern California, where we ate dinner one night and the owner said, "sure you can model here…" I'm not sure the owner had a full understanding of "what is fine art modeling was" when he said "Yes". He does now. Ask me about the Eat at Joe's series sometime.

If you are an enthusiastic person, have a professional manner and a desire to participate in creating artistic photographs, I want to hear from you.
